Founded in 2017, Bellwether Consignment (most commonly referred to as Bellwether) is a mercantile of many rare finds + fashions. Located in the heart of downtown, the shop itself is a bit of a ‘hole in the wall,’ to be discovered in the infamous “Fredericton Arts Building” at 384 Queen Street. Along the banks of the beautiful Wolastoq (Saint John) River, this eclectic brick & mortar boutique operates on the unceded territory of the Mi’kMaq & Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) peoples.

Primarily through an ever-growing community consignment service, shop owner Laurel Green + her ride-or-die/fashion femme fatale Kayleigh Saad meticulously curate a revolving collection of vintage + pre-owned clothing + wares, as well as local + independently hand-crafted art, jewelry, homewares, accessories, + other ephemera that appeals to all sizes, genders and price points.

The shop is conscious of the impact that large-scale, fast fashion manufacturing + consumer practices have on both people + the planet. Bellwether encourages sustainable consumerism through a mindful collection of pre-owned and/or sustainably produced items that deserve to find their way to loving new homes rather than the landfill.
